So long students, and thanks for all the fish

Last Saturday I went over, with Ivet, Catherine and Hannah, to the graduation ceremony for the KBCTC students that were placed with us this year. It was great to be there. I am proud of “our”students! They are good eggs ;o). “Our” Pete was the student speaker - he did a good job. He used one of my favourite passages, so I am claiming some credit [he said he got it from the bible but there we are...]. Our Gordy sang a song she had written - I wonder if it was recorded? - if so I’d put it up here to download…

If you flick these two photos quickly you will get a feel fro Pete’s talk:

I promised to embaress Hannah too:

Some of you may remember last years students, here’s the link for old times sake ;o)

How to break a blogging fast…

Monday, July 10th, 2006

This could easily be the longest I have gone without blogging. It feels kinda strange to be writing again. The initial halt was caused by Asher’s extended stay in hospital and subsequent trauma and recovery. To be honest that little episode relativised a number of things in life and the blog was one of those things that dropped off the bottom. For those who don’t know, Asher is 3 and had two abscesses in his neck which resulted in two operations. I am grateful to God that he helped us keep some level of peace through it. And I am also grateful that he is doing really well apart from two fairly significant scars on his neck. I am making a couple of “teenage” stories that he can make up so he can be proud of them - eg “i was mugged at knife point” etc etc.

So then it was, like, how do I start blogging again. What is significant enough to eb the reason to restart. And then, when I had something it seemed difficult to get back in the mode. And then probably anyone who reads [rather, read] this has propbabaly given up. So here it is a very random waffle. Sorry that is all I can manage!!
