Save the Farm

Monday, September 5th, 2011

www.savethefarm.co.uk

The County Council are already commencing plans to sell Russell House and The Farm on Rickyard Road, Arbours to be redeveloped, probably for housing. Officially they are in a consultation period until 30th September, however plans are already in place to close the site by the end of the year.

Click here the information on the County Council Website.

The Farm has been used for many years to benefit youth locally and across the county. We believe that it is a resource that should be kept for the benefit of the community.

The facility is owned by Youth Services, and for that reason has been strictly limited in its use to youth related activities only. If the facility was opened up for wider community use, we feel that it would be of great benefit to the local community.

Missional Church Quote

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Ok, here’s my quote of the day! This was found while researching what to do in our event coming up, entitled: “FOOD”

“The mission of the church is about more than a distant proclamation or a free hand-out at the soup kitchen. It is about intimate investment in the lives of those around us. It is about securing our identity as a family and then opening the table to those who need the open embrace of Jesus”

from The Complete Book of Everyday Christianity: “Eating”
