Weddings

Tuesday, August 8th, 2006

Last Saturday was a bit of a wedding fest. Rhoda was at Michaels wedding in Northampton. Simon promised that there were many embarrassing photo’s to be used, even from the holiday club. The Whites were at Julie and Ian’s in Liverpool. I haven’t heard about that one yet, but I am sure it was great - a shame not to be there. And we, the Norridge’s, were at Sammi and Phil’s in Southampton. It was a great wedding. A Fantastic celebration. Sammi’s dad and mum run a pub so the reception was there with marquee, hog roast, free flowing refreshments, great band, sumo suits, amazing salads, loads of other grilled meat, fantastic olives, and a 1904 De Dion to take them around. Great fun ;o).

Water on Tap

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006

Many of you know about our friends Steve and Kathryn who have just moved out to Uganda to work in an orphanage there. As a church we had the wonderful privilege of giving them some money to sort out their water tank for their house. Above is a picture of said house and the fixed water tower on the right hand side. Cool, eh? God bless ‘em, I say! What an amazing thing to do, especially with two young kids: Joel [6] and Anya [4]. I think I have the ages right anyway!!

Anyone up for a trip to visit them?

How to break a blogging fast…

Monday, July 10th, 2006

This could easily be the longest I have gone without blogging. It feels kinda strange to be writing again. The initial halt was caused by Asher’s extended stay in hospital and subsequent trauma and recovery. To be honest that little episode relativised a number of things in life and the blog was one of those things that dropped off the bottom. For those who don’t know, Asher is 3 and had two abscesses in his neck which resulted in two operations. I am grateful to God that he helped us keep some level of peace through it. And I am also grateful that he is doing really well apart from two fairly significant scars on his neck. I am making a couple of “teenage” stories that he can make up so he can be proud of them - eg “i was mugged at knife point” etc etc.

So then it was, like, how do I start blogging again. What is significant enough to eb the reason to restart. And then, when I had something it seemed difficult to get back in the mode. And then probably anyone who reads [rather, read] this has propbabaly given up. So here it is a very random waffle. Sorry that is all I can manage!!
